Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions families ask us most often. Don't see yours? Just call or send us a message.
Is this service really free for families?
Yes. There is never a cost to you or your family for our senior living advising services. We are compensated by the senior living communities when a placement is made, similar to how a realtor is paid by the seller, not the buyer.
How are you paid, exactly?
Senior living communities pay us a referral or placement fee when a family we've worked with chooses to move in. This fee comes from the community's marketing budget, not from your pocket, and it never affects which community we recommend.
What areas do you serve?
We serve families across Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, and Salem Counties in South Jersey. If you're just outside this area, reach out anyway, we may still be able to help or point you in the right direction.
What's the difference between 55+ communities, CCRCs, and aging in place?
55+ Active Adult communities are for independent seniors who want a social, low-maintenance lifestyle, with no care services included. CCRCs (Continuing Care Retirement Communities) offer every level of care, from independent living to skilled nursing, on one campus. Aging in place means staying in your current home, with modifications and in-home care support added as needed. We'll help you figure out which fits your situation.
How quickly can you help?
It depends on your situation. Some families reach out months in advance to plan ahead, others need help within days due to a health crisis or hospital discharge. Let us know your timeline on your first call and we'll move at the pace your family needs.
What happens after our first call?
After your free care needs assessment, we research and shortlist communities that fit your loved one's needs and budget, accompany you on tours when possible, and help you compare your options. You can read the full breakdown on our How It Works page.
What is yoga for hospice and caregivers?
It's a gentle, restorative yoga offering for hospice patients and the family members caring for them. Sessions are adapted to each person's mobility and can be done seated, in bed, or standing with support. Visit our Yoga for Hospice & Caregivers page for more detail.
Do you help with selling a family home?
We don't sell homes ourselves, but we connect families with trusted, vetted partners, downsizing specialists, contractors, stagers, and realtors experienced in senior home sales. Learn more on our Home Transition Resources page.
Is my family's information kept private?
Yes. We never share your information with a community or partner without your knowledge and consent. Sharing sensitive details about a loved one's health or finances is hard enough without worrying about privacy.
How is this different from calling a community directly?
A community's admissions team works for that community. We work for your family. We compare multiple communities, not just one, and we're with you through the whole decision, not just a single sales conversation.
Still Have Questions?
We're happy to talk through your specific situation, no two families are exactly alike.
